Hot Tomato - 2008 Sightseer 35J

The Hot Tomato is a 35' Class A gas motorhome with two slides. This rig has several aftermarket suspension upgrades making for a smoother, more comfortable ride. The big draw for us was the set of bunkbeds for the kids and the king bed for us.

Power

30 AMPs. There is a surge protector included as well as a 110V adaptor should you need it. You have to manually plug the power supply into the generator at the utilitiy cabinet to provide power to the coach from the genny.

Tanks

  • Fresh water: 75 gallons
  • Gray water: 48 gallons
  • Black water: 44 gallons
  • LP: 18 gallons
The Gray water tank does not have overflow port. If you over fill it, it will begin to come up in the shower drain.

Mileage

If you're running the genny, about 7 mpg. Without the genny, between 10-13 mpg. It's a 75 gallon fuel tank, at today's prices it cost over $200 to fill. The genny will cut out at 1/4 of a tank, the low fuel warning light doesn't kick in until around 1/8th of a tank.

Seats & Sleeps

There are restraints for eight (8) passengers and sleeping accomodations for up to eight (8) as well. Two of those beds are in the bunkhouse and probably most comfortable for children. There is a king sized bed in the bedroom and a foldout queen sofa in the main cabin with an air mattress.

Onboard Equipment

Pots, pans, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, cups, bowls, silverware, tupperware, ziploc bags, cling wrap, tin foil, propane grill and utensils. Until further notice, due to Covid-19, we are no longer supplying bedding, pillows, sheets, blankets, towels, medicines, basic first aid, bug spray, sun screen, folding chairs, umbrella, outdoor and indoor games/toys.

Quirks

  • Shut off the A/Cs or electric heat prior to starting up the genny; inrush may trip one of the breakers.
  • Passenger side rear jack is stopping short of touchdown.
